img2threejs
img2threejs is a procedural 3D generation tool with a simple promise: one photo in, a procedural 3D model out. It rebuilds the object or character in a single reference image as a quality-gated, animation-ready Three.js model — written entirely in code, with no imported meshes. The project is open source, and its live demo gallery lets you see the results running in your browser before you write a single line.
The workflow is three steps. First, img2threejs takes a reference photo of the object or character you want to rebuild. Second, it analyzes the image and produces a specification of the geometry, materials, and structure. Third, img2threejs generates procedural Three.js code that reconstructs the subject as a fully formed model. Because everything is code, the output is animation-ready, easy to modify, and free of external mesh dependencies.
The showcase gallery demonstrates the range of what img2threejs can produce. Character demos include a Low-Poly Humanoid with a full rig and a Pikachu celebration model. Object demos span CS:GO and CS2 weaponry — the AWP Medusa, Glock-18 Ghost Protocol, Classic Knife Fade, M9 Bayonet Doppler, and Talon Knife Doppler Ruby — plus a BMX Endurance Bike, Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds with case, an ISSACA 12 Gauge Shotgun, a Gerber Paracord Knife, a Doraemon House isometric diorama, a War-Hauler vehicle, and a Crowned Loot Chest. Every demo is generated TypeScript: orbit it in 3D, then read the source it was built from.
For developers, img2threejs is a practical way to bootstrap 3D content for games, product configurators, and interactive web experiences. The project is hosted on GitHub, welcomes stars and sponsors, and is actively developed — the gallery already spans versions from v1.2 through the v1.5-beta procedural character track. If you want to turn images into real, editable 3D, img2threejs is the tool to try.
