Palmier Io

Palmier Io is a desktop video editor for macOS designed from the ground up for AI-powered video creation. Built as an open-source project with thousands of GitHub stars and backing from Y Combinator, it removes the friction of bouncing between web-based AI generators and a separate editing application.

At its core, Palmier Io integrates multiple leading AI generation models into the timeline. Kling AI, ByteDance Seedance, Google Veo, and xAI Grok Imagine are all reachable from inside the editor, so generating an image, a video clip, or an audio track is just another timeline action. There is no download-import step.

Beyond generation, Palmier Io ships a full professional editing surface. Multi-track timelines handle video, audio, images, and text together. You get trimming, splitting, speed adjustments, opacity, and transform controls, and real footage coexists naturally with AI clips on the same tracks.

For agentic workflows, Palmier Io implements the Model Context Protocol, allowing tools like Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Codex to inspect a project and apply timeline edits on their own. Export covers MP4 with H.264, H.265, and ProRes, plus NLE XML for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. The editor itself is free; AI generation uses a credit system.
